Edmonton Journal Interview

Last week Ian and I had the opportunity to share a bit about this year’s event which will be on November 3rd. It was nice to have the opportunity to share the message with the local media, and we look forward to spreading the word more in the coming weeks.

As we get closer to the event, we will be visiting local media outlets to talk more about the event, and the reasons why we are so passionate about this cause. Wounded Warriors Canada is a great organization that does a lot for our Veterans, First Responders and their families.

For example, WWC has group therapy programs, animal assisted therapy, couples therapy programs and resiliency training. They also focus their efforts on research and education as well as transition programs.

As you can understand, this requires an incredible group of people and a substantial budget to provide ongoing support for the many men and women who have served over the years and who continue to serve.

This is where you come in. By donating you directly influence the future programs that our Veterans, First Responders and their family members can assess.

By participating, you can meet the people who serve or who have served, and while walking with us, we have the opportunity to share our experiences with you so that we can all participate in the healing process together.

By sharing this event and future events with your inner circle, you help us spread the word so that we can all positively impact the lives of those who are struggling.

As a veteran who was forced to leave the military due to an illness, I fully understand how it feels to lose one’s identity as a soldier. I know the pain of wanting to serve but having to watch from the sidelines. I understand the struggle to keep it all inside, only to have it all boil over in time. I also recognize the impact this all has on family members who love through difficult times, and often have no help or don’t know where to turn for support.

Having said that, I also know how incredible it feels to be heard, to know that there’s support and to see how group work, therapy and transition programs can make a difference.

All we need is your support.

Every little bit helps…how can you make a difference today?
